Everything You Need to Know About Stage Makeup + Hair

Why is this so important?  Well, it's because everyone wants to see your beautiful features!  We perform under stage lights and let me tell you, the lighting does us no favors, we rely on makeup to enhance our faces and make our features easy to see.  By bringing out your features, it helps your audience tune into the emotion your are trying to display.

What Should be in your Makeup Bag?

Here are some basic products that you will need for your makeup bag:

  • Foundation

  • Concealer

  • Contour

  • Blush

  • Eyeshadow

  • Eyeliner

  • Mascara

  • Lipstick/Lip Liner

  • False Eyelashes

We want to see that hair flip!  However, with that being said, we recommend that you are comfortable with your hair while dancing.  If you find that you will constantly be pushing hair out of your face while you are dancing, then we recommend that you pin some of it back.

Pro Tip: If you want to wear your hair down on show day, start coming to class with your hair down.  The more you practice dancing with it down, the more comfortable you will become.
